What Is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a method of psychotherapy that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma of adults. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR has helped an estimated two million people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress. Please see the following links for further information:

Tracy is a Certified EMDR therapist, and has been incorporating EMDR into her work since 2003. She has been witness to the incredible ways that EMDR can help people to re-connect to their strengths and resources, and transform difficult experiences. Depending on the individual with whom she is collaborating, she often combines EMDR with other approaches, such as art, narrative strategies and sensorimotor work.

What Is Sensorimotor Psychotherapy?

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) is a body-oriented talking therapy developed in the 1980's by Pat Ogden, Ph.D., informed by Hakomi Somatics (KURTZ) and enriched by the contributions from the world of neurobiological research. Sensorimotor work blends cognitive and emotional approaches, verbal dialogue, and physical interventions that directly address the implicit memories and neurobiological effects of trauma. Please see the following link for more information:

Tracy completed Level 1 of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Training for the Treatment of Trauma, in January 2010. She completed Level 2: Attachment, Development and Trauma, in March 2013.
